Sayil - Show Info
Sayil rose to prominence during the Terminal Classic period of Maya history, which lasted from around 800 to 1000 AD. The city was completely desolate and in ruins by the time Stephens and Catherwood discovered it in 1841, but recent excavations suggest that at one time up to 10,000 people lived here.
