We spent 4 days in this hotel and were very sad to leave this place… first, the staff is GREAT, a huge shout out to DANIELA who has always made herself available to support us and went above and beyond for our comfort. We are deeply grateful. The restaurants advise given by Daniela and the group is based on them really tasting each of the restaurants suggested. Fresh water is provided in a continuous basis (water fountain available) and this is very appreciated with the heat in May in Merida. The decoration is amazing! the Colors are breathtaking and everything is done with a nice taste. Finally, the hotel is very well located at walking distance with main attractions of the city. We will hopefully be coming back to this place. We greatly recommend.

Puerto del cielo is a super cute family run hotel in a lovely peaceful spot by the sea, and away from the toursit bustle of Progresso to the East. Jill and Randy were the most helpful and lovely hosts who really looked after me, including hooking me up with a bike rental and pointing me towards local rustic spots to grab food. The rooms are incredibly nice and tastefully done, and I loved my twenty yard stroll down into the warm ocean then sits in the thatch covered veranda watching the waves and writing. I will come again.

The owners are wonderful, exceptionally welcoming, it feels like you have come home, it was sad leaving. They had the best recommendations. The room was large and spacious, the pool was perfect it is surrounded by beautiful trees. The place is clean and also the grounds. You park inside a locked up fence which is great. The shower and bathroom was great. The only down side was the hard mattress, everything else was perfect!
